Jack Prigge ties for second, Bulldog girls third

BOZEMAN — Thursday was another good day for some Butte High golfers.

Jack Prigge continued his outstanding sophomore season by shooing an evn-par 71 at the Valley View Golf Club to tie for second at the Bozeman Invitational.

Prigge tied with Gallatin’s Jordan Verge, who beat the Butte golfer in a scorecard playoff. Gallatin’s Justus Verge went low for a 65 to take home medalist honors.

Jacob Brandon of Bozeman finished fourth at 72.

Gallatin won the team title with a blistering 293. Bozeman placed second at 308. Billings Senior took third at 317, and the Bulldogs placed fourth at 335.

Also for Butte High, Joseph Lyons hit 93, Jacob Sawyer carded a 94, and Brady Anderson shot 97.

Butte High’s girls looked sharp in the final tune up before next week’s Western AA Divisional tournament at Fairmont Hot Springs.

Senior Ella Prigge fired a 77 at the par-71 Bridger Creek Golf Course to tie for fifth place and lead the Bulldogs to third place at 322. Prigge tied with Gallatin’s Addiley Lloyd and Senior’s Kenzie Walsh. Both golfers finished ahead of Prigge on a scorecard playoff, leaving the Butte senior with seventh place.

Bozeman’s Sami Yates fired a 73 to win medalist honors. She beat teammate Cooper Knarr and Cierra Sinheim of Billings Skyview by one shot. Senior’s Sami Benson placed fourth at 75.

Butte High’s Kodie Hoagland placed 10th at 80, while Kennedy Lean shot 86, and Makenzie Finnegan shot 89. Nacole Sestrich carded a 106.

Bozeman won the girls’ team crown at 314, beating second-place Billings Senior by eight shots.
