Jack Crowley the topic of tonight’s Overtime

Jack Crowley, the late long-time club pro at the Highland View Golf Course, will be the topic of KBOW Overtime tonight.

Marla (Rude) Ratzlaff and Rob Cashell, two “Muni kids,” will be call-in guests to the show. Ratzlaff and Cashell recently wrote letters to the Butte Parks and Recreation Board requesting to name the new clubhouse at the Highland View Golf Course after Crowley.

Ratzlaff was a member of Butte High’s back-to-back girls’ golf state titles in 1984 and 1985. Cashell, a former Butte High golfer, is the commissioner of the Cascade Collegiate Conference.

Crowley, who passed away at the age of 74 in 2010, ran the municipal course for 29 summers. He retired in 1996, leaving behind a lasting legacy that you just had to see to believe.

Butte High Activities Director Chuck Merrifield will join the show during the second hour.

Overtime is hosted by Paul Panisko and includes Bill Foley of Butte Sports. The show is broadcast from 7 to 9 p.m. each Wednesday at the Metals Sports Bar and Grill. Tonight’s show, however, will be broadcast from the KBOW studio.

Listen live at 550 AM, 101.5 FM or online at kbow550.net.
