Helena took the opener of a scheduled doubleheader 7-2. That game was called after six innings by rain. Game 2 was washed out. (Boxscore)
Tyler Beaver struck out five batters in five innings to get the win. He scattered six hits and gave up two earned runs.
Tizer Lindgren hit a double and a single to lead the 11-hit Helena attack. Tanner Koehler and Liam Priebe each smacked two singles.
Lucas Harris-Huerta, who started on the bump and pitched into the fifth inning, hit a double and a single for Butte. Matt Donaldson hit two singles, while Derek Dunmire and Gavin Trudgeon each hit one.
Action involving the Muckers, Belgrade B and Bozeman B is scheduled for Sunday at 3 Legends Stadium. Belgrade is set to play Bozeman at 1 p.m., and the Muckers are lined up to take on Belgrade at 3 p.m.
Those games, however, are in serious doubt after the heavy rain on Saturday.
