Icedogs rally to close out Cobras in Game 2

The victory gave the Icedogs the 2-0 win in the best-of-three NA3HL playoff series. Bozeman won 5-2 Friday in Bozeman.

Things were looking good for the Cobras Saturday. David Harry, Fabian Vik and Tammer Billman scored goals in the second period to give the Cobras a 3-2 lead.

That came after Noel Rahn and Nick Stevens scored for Bozeman in the first.

Bozeman’s Forrest Musselman found the net at the 14 minute, 20 second mark of the second to tie the game at three.

Bentley Simcox then scored an unassisted goal 3:19 into the third to put the Icedogs up for good. Noel Williamson added an insurance goal to seal off the victory.

Bozeman outshot Butte 56-39 in the series finale. Netminder Collin Soderholm turned away 36 shots in the win.

Carson Streich registered a pair of assists for the Cobras. Harry, Vik, Ross Biggerstaff and Nick Bradshaw each added one. Caleb Cross picked up 51 saves in the loss.

The Cobras close the season at 19-27-2. The Icedogs (27-17-3) move on to the next round of the Fraser Cup Championships.
