I want to be a Globetrotter

I want to be a Globetrotter

Reese Johnson, a 9-year-old student at Margaret Leary Elementary School in Butte, is the winner of the Butte Broadcasting’s Junior Globetrotter essay contest. Reese will be a Junior Globetrotter on the bench during Friday’s Globetrotter game Friday at Montana Tech’s HPER Complex.

Following is Reese’s winning essay about being Globetrotter and preventing bullying at school:

I want to be a Globetrotter

By Reese Johnson

I want to be a Harlem Globetrotter because I love the game of basketball. I also love to travel and want to do tricks with a basketball. When they (Harlem Globetrotters) come to Butte, I always watch them. I love of funny Globie is and all the pranks he does. I would love to be the ball girl for the Harlem Globetrotters.

At Margaret Leary we stop bullying, we don’t be bystanders and we include people at recess. When kids are alone, or if they are sad because you don’t know how their day or life is so you should always be kind to others. A smile can change the world. It sounds small but it is big in somebody’s world. So ALWAYS BE KIND.
