Hopcroft, Molesworth earn weekly Frontier honors

WHITEFISH — Montana Tech volleyball players Sabrina Hopcroft and Angela Molesworth received Frontier Conference Players of the Week honors, the league announced today.

Hopcroft took home the Defender of the Week award, while Molesworth received the Attacker of the Week. Molesworth received the honor for the second time this season, while Hopcroft won the award two weeks in a row.

Rayna Pilgeram of Carroll College received Setter of the Week honors.

The awards came after No. 17 Montana Tech best Montana Western 301 and Rocky Mountain College 3-1 at home to run the Oredigger record to 4-0 in league play.

Hopcroft is a 5-foot-7 sophomore defensive specialist from Florence. She averaged 6.14 digs per set over the week. That includes 31 digs in the win over Rocky.

Hailey Copinga of Rocky Mountain and Brooke Both of Providence were also nominated for the award.

Molesworth is a 6-foot-2 senior outside hitter from Gilbert, Arizona. On the week, she averaged 4.14 kills per set with a .344 hitting percentage.

Sydney Anderson of Providence, Rachel Gregg of Lewis-Clark State, Sydney Matheny of Rocky Mountain and Holly Morehouse of Carroll College were also nominated for the attacker honor.

Pilgeram, a 6-foot senior setter from Helena, led Carroll College as the Saints split their weekend road matches, beating MSU-Northern 3-1 and losing 3-2 at Providence. Pilgeram averaged 10.89 assists and 4.89 digs per set.

Tori Chelini of Montana Tech, Natalie Hilderman and Ava Larkin of Providence were also nominated for the honor.
