Updated to fix typo in Boys 14-15 results: GREGSON — Butte golfer Hailey Hoagland and Helena’s Ryan Hayter posted the low scores at Monday’s Fairmont Invitational.
The tournament was the fourth stop on the South West Montana Junior Golf Tour.
Hoagland fired an 80 at the Fairmont Hot Springs Course to win the Stacie Lewis Division (girls 16-17). Fellow Butte High golfer Shealyn Hafer placed second at 85.
Butte’s Alexis Williams fired a 108 to win the Paula Creamer Division (girls 14-15), while Butte’s Tricia Joyce won the Cristie Kerr Division (girls 12-13) with a 56. Butte golfer Prestynn Weldon placed second in that division at 66.
Hayter shot a 77 to win the Tiger Woods Division (boys 16-17) by four shots. Clancy’s Matthew Krantz and Jackson Wagner were next at 81. Krantz took second in a scorecard playoff.
The second-lowest score of the day was carded by Houston Green. The Butte golfer shot a 79 to win the Brandt Snedeker Division (boys 14-15). Logen Teegarden of Clancy was second at 85. Helena’s Taggart Sullivan and Butte’s Tucker Thatcher were next at 88. Sullivan took third thanks to a scorecard playoff.
Tyge Yelenich shot a 42 to win the nine-hole Steve Stricker Division (boys 12-13). He edged fellow Butte golfer Isaiah Weldon by two shots.
The next stop on the tour is the July 29 Powell County Invitational in Deer Lodge.
