GREGSON — Butte High golfers Hailey Hoagland and Shealyn Hafer placed second and third at the Class AA tournament Tuesday at Fairmont Hot Springs.
The tournament, which was supposed to be in Bozeman but moved because of a conflict, was shortened to one day because of lightning on Monday.
Billings Senior’s Kortney McNeil shot an 82 to win medalist honors. She beat Hoagland by one shot. Hafer tied with Kailey Prosser of Great Falls High and Sammy Walter of Billings Senior for third place at 84.
Billigns West won the team standings with a 349, which was five shots better than Billings Senior. Butte High placed third at 383.
On the Boys side Austin Berg of West and Payton Stott of Skyview posted the best score, shooting 2-under-par 70.
Senior’s 298 won the team title, eight shots better than Skyview.
Butte High finished sixth at 332. Ty Murphy was the low Bulldog with 81. David Starcevich hit 82, while Mike Jankovich shot 84, Trey Hoagland carded an 85 and Will Kilmer hit 88.
Playing for the Butte High JV team, Tucker Thatcher carded an 89.
The Bulldogs will be back at Fairmont Sept. 6 for a triangular with Bozeman and Belgrade.
