Hailey Hoagland claimed medalist honors, and the Butte High girls’ golf team won the Butte High Invitational Friday at the Butte Country Club.
The tournament’s first round was played at the Old Works on Thursday.
The Butte High girls shot a 352 in the final round for a 712 total. Bozeman placed second at a distant 731, while Missoula Hellgate took third at 780.
Hoagland, a junior, shot a 76 for the second-straight day for a 152 total. She beat sophomore teammate Shealyn Hafer by eight shots. Hafer shot the low round of the day with a 75. Bozeman’s Charlee Remitz placed third at 169.
Butte High’s Hailey Ogolin placed eighth at 191 after a 95 Friday. Also for Butte High, Megan Ingersoll shot 209, while McKenzee O’Neill shot 218.
Butte Central freshman Regan Weldon shot 216.
On the boys’ side, the Bulldogs placed third with a 638 after Friday’s 314. Bozeman won the tournament with a 628. The Hawks shot 311 Friday. Belgrade, which hit a final round 312, took second at 633.
Belgrade’s Tyler Fergson shot an even-par 70 Friday to win the tournament with a 148 total. He beat Great Falls High’s Cody Babinecz, who shot 74-75, by one shot. Bozeman’s Kyle Powell took third at 150.
Butte High senior Mike Jankovich carded the best round of the day. He shot a 1-under 69 to rebound from Thursday’s 83 to tie with teammate and classmate David Starcevich for fourth at 152.
Also, Bulldog Ty Murphy placed ninth at 180. He shot 81 and 79. Freshman Trey Hoagland shot 174, and Tyler Myers hit 182.
Derek Ralph led Butte Central with a 161. He hit a 74 Friday. Maroons Bryce Noctor, Jim JOyce and Jack Gallagher followed at 204, 206 and 228.
Anaconda didn’t play Friday, and freshman Caleb Stetzner was in contention with a 77 at the Old Works.
The Bulldogs head to Bozeman for a two-day tournament next week. Butte Central and Anaconda play at Hamilton on Saturday.
