DILLON — A deep 3-pointer by Reed Hazard at the buzzer lifted the University of Providence to a 67-64 win over Montana Western in a Frontier Conference women’s basketball game at the Straugh Gym. (Stats)
The buzzer-beater came after the Bulldogs erased a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter. Brynley Fitzgerald tied the game with 12 seconds left before Hazard had the last laugh.
With 14 points, Hazard was one of three Argos in double figures scoring. Emilee Maldonado scored 18 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished five assists, while Kenedy Cartwright netted 17 points.
Fitzgerald finished with 22 points and seven rebounds for the Bulldogs. Sydney Sheridan scored 14. Also for Western, Paige Holmes and Lilly Gopher scored seven apiece, Shainy Mack netted six, and Mesa King tossed in five.
The Bulldogs will be in Butte Saturday and Sunday to take on Montana Tech.
