Hawks soar past Bulldog boys in second half

BOZEMAN — A second-half nightmare foiled the Butte High boys’ basketball team Thursday night.

Bozeman outscored Butte High 45-12 after the halftime break and the Hawks beat Butte High 81-39 in an Eastern AA game. The loss was the seventh straight for the Bulldogs, who fell to 2-11 overall and 1-6 in league play.

Bozeman improved to 7-6 and 4-3. Cody Bender scored 19 points to lead the Hawks.

Brian Smith scored 12 points to lead the Bulldogs. Dallas Cook scored 11, while Kyle Peterson scored eight and Cory Farstveet scored five.
