Hawks fly past Bulldogs in Eastern AA match

BOZEMAN — The Bozeman Hawks flexed their volleyball muscle Thursday night, sweeping Butte High in an Eastern AA match.

The Hawks won 25-5, 25-15, 25-11 to improve to 12-1 overall and 5-1 in conference play.

Caitlin Lonergan tallied 23 kills to lead the way for the Hawks, who out killed Butte High 45-9. She also joined Darra Perdeams with four aces.

Mikayla McGivern led the Bulldogs with four kills. Abby Dodge killed three, while Hannah Amtmann collected a team-leading 13 digs.

Erika Spear served three aces for Butte High (2-9, 1-5), which is off until next Thursday’s home match against Great Falls Russell.

Bozeman (5-1, 12-1): Aces 11 (Darra Perdaems 4, Caitlin Lonergan 4, Josie D’Agostino 3), Kills 45 (Lonergan 23, Amber Tarabochia 7), Assists 45 (Allie Lynch 42), Blocks 4 (Lonergan 2), Digs 45 (Perdaems 12, Lonergan 9, Lynch 9).
Butte (1-5, 2-9): Aces 5 (Erika Spear 3), Kills 9 (Mikayla McGivern 4, Abby Dodge 3), Assists 8 (Spear 7), Blocks 5 (McGivern 2, Dodge 2), Digs 27 (Hannah Amtmann 13, Jenna Maroney 4).
