Joel Harvey, Idah Real, Don Foley and Nicole Murray ran to victories Saturday during the Wulfman’s Frigid Digger race. (Overall results; Age group results)
Harvey, a 16-year-old-runner from Dillon, won the 3-mile race in 22 minutes, 37 seconds. Daniel Martin, also 16 and also from Dillon, placed second in 23:03.
Butte’s Ryan Tomich, 14, finished third at 23:15, while John Tomich, 57, of Butte placed fourth in 26:50.
Butte’s Real, 17, was the top female finisher in the 3-mile race. She finished in 27 minutes, 2 seconds. Real, a junior at Butte High, also won the race last year.
Butte runner Amanda Badovinac, 42, placed second at 28:30. Butte’s Sarah Richard, 20, placed third at 28:58, followed by Betty Iverson, 60, of Dillon in 29:10.
Foley, 48, was the top runner in the 7.3-mile race. The Butte runner finished in 55:05.
Butte’s Guy Wadas, 47, placed second among men in 57:24. Butte’s Duane Kuchtyn, 40, took third in 1:01:25.
Murray, 49, of Whitehall, was the top female finisher in the long race. The former Olympic prospect finished in 57:05. Butte’s Michelle Bazzanella, 46, placed second in 1:01:52. Allison Renouard, 22, of Butte finished third at 1:10:42.
In all, 51 contestants competed in the event.
