MISSOULA — Make it 2 for 2 for the Butte Central Maroons.
The Butte Central boys’ basketball team got a huge game from junior Braden Harrington and senior Cade Holter as the Maroons beat Browning 59-48 at Dahlberg Arena.
The game was part of the Western A Tip-off Tournament, and the Maroons went 2-0 in the opening weekend.
Harrington did the heavy lifting in the first half, scoring 21 of his 24 points before the break. That included late 3-pointer to send the Maroons into halftime with a 27-24 lead.
Holter scored all of his 12 points in the second half, and half of those came from the foul line as BC slowly pulled away for the win.
Luke Heaphy added eight points for the Maroons, while Gator Yelenich scored seven, Trevor Neumann tossed in five, and Dylan Sestrich netted two.
Riley Spoonhunter, who transferred to Browning from Heart Butte, scored 16 points before fouling out to lead the Indians.
The Maroons are back on the road next week when they play Southwestern A games at Frenchtown and Stevensville on Friday and Saturday.
BC’s first home game is Dec. 18 against Belgrade.
