Hamilton boys close Day 1 with win over Whitefish

HAMILTON — The host Hamilton Broncs saved their best for last Thursday night.

The Broncs outscored Whitefish 18-4 in the fourth quarter for a 62-51 victory, sending the Broncs to the semifinals of the Western A Divisional boys’ basketball tournament on the Dale Berry Court. (Stats)

The Broncs (18-3), who trailed 29-26 at halftime, will play Dillon at 8 p.m. Friday.

The semifinals feature three Southwestern A teams. Butte Central plays Browning in the 6:30 p.m. semi.

Tanner Goligoski scored 17 points to lead four Broncs in double figures. Hunter Omlid scored 14 in the win, while Trey Searle added 10 and Camron Rothie tossed on 10. The Broncs also got nine points from Carson Rostad.

Lee Walburn’s 20 points paced the Bulldogs (13-8). Dillon Botner scored 11 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
