PULLMAN, Wash. — Butte High graduate Hailey Hoagland and the University of Montana golf team placed seventh at the Cougar Cup Tuesday at Washington State’s Palouse Ridge Golf Course. (Results)
Hoagland, a junior, fired a final-round 75 to tie for 21st place on the leaderboard with a 225 total. She posted the lowest overall score for the Grizzlies. She shot 74 and 76 on Monday.
Cal State Fullerton’s Martha Edberg shot a 66 Tuesday to claim medalist honors at 206.
Grizzly freshman Caitlyn Villatora shot her second consecutive 74 Tuesday and finished one shot behind Hoagland at 226.
As a team, the Grizzlies shot 307 on the final 18 for a 916 total. Idaho won the 10-team tournament at 864.
Montana State’s Kelly Hooper tied for 10th place at 229 to lead the Bobcats to fifth place at 892. Hooper shot a final-round 70.
Next week, the Grizzlies will be in Aurora, Oregon, for the Rose City Collegiate.
