Hafer, Ogolin, Hoagland crack top 10

Butte High golfers Shealyn Hafer, Hailey Ogolin and Trey Hoagland finished in the top 10 at the Butte/Anaconda Invitational.

The tournament concluded Friday at the Butte Country Club. Thursday’s first round was played at the Old Works in Anaconda.

Hafer shot a 79 Friday for a 160 total. That was good for third place. Kortney McNeil of Billings Senior shot a final-round 73 to win with a 150. Billings West’s Hayden Flohr placed second at 158.

Ogolin placed fifth at 164 after a final-round 81.

Billings Senior won the team title with a 703, five better than second-place Billings West. Great Falls High placed third at 728, while Butte High took fourth at 749.

Alexis Williams shot a 95 for a 191 for the Bulldogs. Ashten McCloskey, who went on to play soccer for the Bulldogs hit 120 for the second straight day, while Sadie Starcevich improved eight shots for a 114.

Easton Enott of Great Falls Russell won medalist honors on the boys’ side at 147. He shot a 73 on Friday.

Austin Walter of Billings Senior and Tyson Odden of Bozeman were next at 152.

Anaconda’s Caleb Stetzner followed a 77 with a 76 to place third at 152.

Hoagland shot a final-round 74 to place eighth at 156. He shot 82 on Thursday.

Billings West won the team title at 623, one shot better than Billings Senior and CMR. Bozeman placed fourth at 634, while Butte High took fifth at 644.

Houston Green shot a 76 for Butte High and placed just out of the top 10 with a 158. Isaiah Weldon  shot an 84 for a 161. Also, Will Kilmer shot 79 for a 169, while Andy Kelly hit 91 for a 183.

Freshman Tyge Yelenich fired a 76 on Friday for a 161 total to lead the Maroons, who shot 766. Tyler Kump hit 94 for BC Friday, while Cameron Johnson shot 99.
