Guns & Hoses basketball game tonight

The Guns & Hoses charity basketball game will be played at 6:30 tonight the Maroon Activities Center.

The game pits the Butte Police Department against the Butte Fire Department. The firefighters won last year’s game.

This year, the firefighters will be coached by former Butte High and Butte Central coach John Thatcher. Former Montana Tech football coach Bob Green will lead the police.

Butte High legend and former Eastern Washington basketball star Lexie Nelson will play for the police, while last year’s star Matt Pokorny, a former Butte Central standout, will once again lead the firefighters.

Half the proceeds will go to Mariah’s Challenge, while half will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Butte. Cost is $5, and children 12 and under will be admitted for free.

Montana Grizzly jerseys signed by Colt Anderson and Marc Mariani will be raffled or auctioned off during the game. T-Shirts will also be sold.

The B’s On the Edge Dance Team will perform at halftime.
