LIVINGSTON — Butte Central had a big-time rebound in its shooting Saturday.
The Maroons shook off Thursday’s cold shooting to hit on 11 of 25 3-pointers as BC beat Livignston 61-44 in a non-conference boys’ basketball game.
Kale Guldseth led the way with 21 points for the Maroons, who improved to 5-3 overall.
“Kale played outstanding on both ends of the floor,” BC coach Brodie Kelly said.
Brady Tippett broke out of a recent scoring slump to score 16 points, while Nate Bolstad scored eight in the win.
“Nate Bolstad and Brady Tippett played solid offensively,” Kelly said. “As a team we took really good care of the ball and shot the ball well again.”
Eight different BC players scored points. Marcus Ferriter scored six points, while Dalton Sessions scored five, Danny Peoples tossed in three and Connor McGree netted two. Emmett McCarthy, Wyatt Kingston, Jimmy Martz and Kaemen Richards also played for the Marooons.
Marcus Payne scored 15 to lead the Rangers.
Kelly said McGree was key in containing Payne.
“Connor McGree did a great job on Marcus Payne,” the coach said. “Payne is one of the best players in the state.”
The Maroons play again Thursday when they take on Butte High at the Civic Center.
