Grizzly men draw Syracuse

The University of Montana men’s basketball team will play Syracuse in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The bracket for the tournament was unveiled this afternoon, and Montana drew the No. 13 seed in the East region. Syracuse is the No. 4 seed. The teams will play Thursday in San Jose. Game time has not been announced.

No. 19-ranked Syracuse (26-9) fell 78-61 to Louisville Saturday in the championship game of the Big East tournament. Coach Jim Boeheim’s team was ranked as high as No. 3 in the nation this season in The Associated Press Top 25 poll.

Under coach Wayne Tinkle, the Grizzlies (25-6) are going to the NCAA tournament for the 10th time and the second straight season. The Grizzlies beat Weber State 67-64 in the championship of the Big Sky Conference tournament Saturday night in Missoula.
