Griffins top Bulldog men

DILLON — Tallon Robertson scored 25 points Saturday to lead Westminster College to a 68-64 win over Montana Western at the Straugh Gymnasium. Stats

The game was the Frontier Conference opener for both teams.

“It was a nip-and-tuck game all the way,” Western coach Steve Keller said. “We had a tough time scoring. Defensively we weren’t too bad.”

Maazin Butler hit three 3-pointers and scored 25 points to lead the Bulldogs. Western also got 11 points apiece from Jake Owsley and Kris Castro. Castro posted a double-double with 11 boards.

The Bulldogs are off until Dec. 20 when they play the University of Montana. Western doesn’t play another conference game until January.
