Green, Williams, Joyce, Noctor, Lean win at Fairmont

GREGSON — Five Butte golfers claimed victory Tuesday as the Southwest Montana Junior Golf Tour stopped at Fairmont Hot Springs for the Fairmont Invitational.

Houston Green, Alexis Williams, and Kennedy Lean won for the fourth time in five tour stops, while Kaven Noctor and Tricia Joyce each broke through for their second victory of the season.

Green shot a 2-over-par 74 to run away with the Tiger Woods division for boys 16-17. Williams shot an 85 to easily win the Suzann Petterson division for girls 16-17.

Joyce shot a 96 to roll to a big win in the Stacy Lewis division for girls’ 14-15, while Noctor’s nine-hole 43 was good enough for a six-shot win in the Phil Mickelson boys’ 12-13 age group.

Lean, meanwhile, played solo to win the nine-hole Lexi Thompson division for girls 12-13 with a 65.

Also, Hamilton golfer Tristan Hanson shot an 83 to win his third straight tournament, topping the Rory McIlroy division for boys 13-14. Hunter Jewett of Lolo placed second at 86, followed by Matt Ingersoll of Butte at 90.

The next stop on the tour is Monday at the Beaverhead Open in Dillon.
