WHITEFISH — Marcel Towns of the University of Great Falls was named the Frontier Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Towns is a 6-foot-2 junior guard from Tempe, Ariz. Great Falls won on the road against the University of Lethbridge 96-74.
Towns scored 27 points, pulled down six rebounds, had seven assists and five steals. . He was 11 of 16 from the field (69 percent), 1 of 2 in 3-point field goals (50 percent) and 4 of 5 from the free throw line (80 percent).
Also nominated: P.J. Bolte of Lewis-Clark State, Nick Jones of Carroll College, Don Parham of Rocky Mountain and Vince Turk of Montana Western.
