The Montana boys will look to continue their dominance over North Dakota on the football field Saturday when they meet for the 21st Knights of Columbus Badlands Bowl.
The game kicks off at 6 p.m. at the Henry Biesiot Activities Center in Dickinson North Dakota. The Montanans have won 15 of the 20 meetings.
This year’s Montana team includes recent Butte High graduate Peter Granger. Granger didn’t play football as a junior and returned to the gridiron as a senior.
He caught 64 passes for 899 yards and six touchdowns during Butte High’s playoff run in 2013. Granger is the only Butte player on the roster.
Ennis receiver Connor Sullivan, the son of former Butte Central star athlete John Sullivan, is also on the Montana roster. Sullivan will play football for the Montana State Bobcats next fall.
Three members of the Class A state champion Dillon team earned a spot on the Montana roster. That includes receiver Mick Paffhausen, who signed with Montana Tech.
Offensive lineman Donovan Hucke, a Montana Western signee, and linebacker Troy Scott will also represent Dillon in the game. Scott signed to play basketball at Western.
Alex Brunett will represent Boulder on the Montana team.
Seven members of the Class AA state champion Bozeman Hawks were named to the game, which is made up of outgoing seniors. Bozeman coach Troy Purcell will lead the Montana team. Clint Layng of Boulder is serving as an assistant coach.
The game will be streamed live at badlandsbowl.com.
