Golf tournament set in honor of Lee LaBreche

Montana Tech and the Butte Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to host the Chamber/Digger Scholarship Golf Tournament in memory of Lee LaBreche.

The tournament will be held Friday, Aug. 16 at the Highland View Golf Course. Registration is at 9 a.m., and play begins with a shotgun start at 10.

Cost is $400 for a team of four. That cost is $350 if players bring a cart. A $500 fee includes a hole sponsorship.

Players could win a motorcycle from Copper Canyon Harley Davidson or a car from Butte Toyota.

LaBreche, affectionately known as “The Big Kahuna,” was an avid golfer and the head coach of the Montana Tech golf teams until his untimely death in February. The tournament will raise money for the Chamber and for golf scholarships in LaBreche’s name at Montana Tech.
