Bryn Godbout pitched five shutout innings Friday as Butte High’s junior varsity softball team beat the Corvallis varsity 3-0 at Stodden Park. (Boxscore)
The game was part of Butte Central’s LaVerne Combo Invitational.
Godbout, a junior, struck out seven batters and did not issue a walk in the game, which was called after five innings by the tournament time limit. She scattered four hits.
The Bulldogs did their damage on three singles — by Brityn Stewart, Madi Jonart and Cami Kautzman. Madisyn Swanson, Natalie Lynch, Sophie Radcliffe, Ashby Lee and Madi Jonart worked walks.
Gabby Krueger fanned five in the hard-luck loss. Kaitlin McCartney doubled, and Macee Greenwood, Sydney Wolsky and Jadyn Greenwood singled.
Butte High will take on Columbia Falls at 10:45 a.m. Saturday on Stodden Park Field No. 2. The Bulldogs will close out the tournament at 4 p.m. against Florence on Field No. 3.
