Glacier JV defeats Butte High squad with walkoff hit

KALISPELL — Paishance Heller singled in a run in the bottom of the seventh give Glacier junior varsity of Kalispell a 13-12 high school softball win over the Butte High JV Friday.
The win, coupled with Glacier’s 13-6 victory over Butte High, in a companion junior varsity game gave Glacier a sweep of the doubleheader.
Glacier had built a 10-run lead by the fourth inning before the Butte High jayvees rallied to forge the tie. Reese Johnson’s run-scoring base hit in the top of the seventh had squared the score at 12-all.
A Game Changer Media report said RBI hits by Gracie Jonart, Bittyn Klima, Grace Underwood, Allie Becker, Avery Barsness and Kendallyn Schad propelled the Butte High comeback.
Becker’s double was Butte’s only extra-base hit. Jonart collected four hits in the game, and Klima drove in three runs. Becker totaled three hits, and Mattie Stepan and Barsness slapped two apiece. Klima, Johnson and Underwood each knocked a single.
Jonart and Underwood each had two runs batted in, and Becker, Barsness, Schad and Johnson each drove in one run.
Schad pitched.
Kaydee Walcheck plated four runs for Glacier and Haller knocked home three. Walcheck, winning pitcher Olivia Gibbons and Omni Wilhelm each had three hits. Walcheck’s sum included a home run and double, and Gibbons mashed a pair of doubles.
