GREAT FALLS — Billings Skyview and Billings Senior each knocked off the Butte High’s girls 7-1 as the Bulldogs opened the tennis season.

Aryika Gerry and Abby Ricketts teamed to win a pair of matches at No. 3 doubles to highlight the Bulldogs’ day. Gerry and Ricketts won in straight sets, betting their Skyview opponents 6-4, 6-4. They won 7-6, 0-6, 11-9 thriller against Billings Senior.

Against Skyview, Abby Kelly and Kenney Lean dropped a 6-5, 4-6, 7-10 tiebreaker at No. 2 doubles. The rest of the matches went in straight sets.

Butte High has just three boys on the team, and they competed in singles.

The Bulldogs will head to Missoula next Saturday in an event that involves the Kalispell and Missoula schools.
