Gallatin takes command at Bozeman tournament

Butte’s Prigge, Hoagland in the hunt

BOZEMAN —The Gallatin Raptors had themselves a day Thursday at the Valley View Golf Course.

The Raptor boys shot a 284 team score to take command at the Bozeman Invitational.

Ramey Lloyd, the Gallatin No. 4 boy, carded a 1-under-par 69 to take the lead for a team that threw out an 80. Brothers Justus and Jordan Verge followed at 70 and 71 for the Raptors. Stevie Voight shot a 74.

Billings Senior is second at 302, followed by Billings Skyview at 326.

Butte High junior Jack Prigge is three shots out of the lead after carding a first-round 72. He is in fifth place overall. Billings Senior’s Reece Mayala is tied with Jordan Verge at 71.

Butte High freshman Brenner Booth is one shot out the lead at 79.

As a team, Butte High is looking up at the field in the seven-team tournament. Gavin Roesti hit 96 for Butte High. Jacob Sawyer shot 98, and Joseph Lyons shot a 103.

On the girls’ side, Butte High senior Kodie Hoagland is two shots back in her quest for back-to-back victories.

Hoagland shot a 76 and trails only Gallatin’s Addiley Lloyd Ella Atkins of Bozeman is third at 79, while Ella Torsleff of Gallatin and Bella Johnson of Billings Wets are tied at 80.

West leads the way at 333. Bozeman is a distant second at 350, one better than Gallatin.

Butte High is seventh at 454.

Also playing for the Butte High girls are Dylan Bartoletti (115), Kendyllen Lean (128) and Taylor Sullivan (135).

Friday’s final round begins at 9 a.m. at the Bridget Creek Golf Course.
