Gallatin softball clips Butte High in last of seventh

BOZEMAN – Rhianna Ashcraft doubled home the winning run for Gallatin High as the Raptors outscored Butte High 15-14 for a walkoff win Wednesday in a Class AA nonconference high school girls’ softball game.
Butte High had tied the score at 14-all in the sixth inning on a double by Kamber Leary.
Gallatin built an early five-run lead before the Bulldogs rallied back on runs batted in by Bryn Godbout, Leary, Madisyn Swanson, Godbout and Rian Ferriter. Swanson swatted a home run.
The hitting comparisons were close, too. The Raptors rapped 16 hits and Butte High bashed 15.
Swanson totaled five RBIs to lead Butte High producers. Leary and the Godbouts, Ally and Bryn, each notched a pair of RBIs. Leary had four hits, and sisters Rian and Gracie Ferriter, each knocked two hits, as did Swanson and Bryn Godbout.
Bryn Godbout and Leary each crashed two doubles, and Taylor Drakos, Gracie Ferriter and Swanson each belted one. Rian Ferriter struck out eight batters pitching four-plus innings before giving way to Leary.
Olivia Klemann clubbed three doubles for the Raptors, and Parker Stevens and Kelly Coon collected four hits apiece.
Butte High will close the regular season on Saturday with a Western AA Conference doubleheader at Stodden Park against Flathead High of Kalispell. The first pitch is set for noon.
