Frontier roundup: Raiders hang 82 on Northern, Rocky wins in OT

The two Frontier Conference football games that didn’t include Montana Tech, Montana Western or Carroll College were interesting for completely different reasons.

Defending NAIA national champion Southern Oregon beat MSU-Northern 82-9. Yes 82-9. Meanwhile, Rocky Mountain College won a 36-35 double-overtime thriller. The entire Frontier Conference is off next week.

Southern Oregon 82, MSU-Northern 9

Five different Southern Oregon players ran for touchdowns, and the Raiders led 41-0 after the first quarter and 62-3 at halftime.

Rocky Mountain College 36, Eastern Oregon 35 (2OT)

La GRANDE, Ore. — Chase White hit Jade Olson for a 6-yard touchdown, then White ran for the 2-point conversion in double overtime as the Battlin’ Bears rebounded from last week’s heartbreaking loss at Carroll College. Stats

White passed for 240 yards and three touchdowns in the win. He was picked off twice.

Kodee Varner ran for 100 yards, while Olsen ran for 48 yards and two scores. Zach Bartlow passed for 264 yards and four touchdowns in the loss.
