Following are the Frontier Conference weekly basketball honors, which were released by the conference late Monday.
Women’s basketball
Cydney Tibbits of Westminster College was named the Frontier Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Tibbitts is a 6-foot-1 senior forward from Pasco, Wash. No. 5 Westminster went 2-0 on the road for the weekend. The Griffins beat Southern-New Orleans 57-56 and No. 11 Xavier (La.) 62-50.
She averaged 21.5 points, seven rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals. Tibbitts was 13 of 22 from the field (59 percent), 3 of 5 in 3-point and 14 of 16 (88 percent) from free throw line. Also nominated: Annie Kane of Lewis-Clark State, Brittany Kumm of Rocky Mountain College, Erin Legel of the University of Great Falls, Megan Patterson of Carroll College and Nikki Tresch of Montana State-Northern.
Men’s basketball
Blake Skidmore of Westminster College was named the Frontier Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Skidmore is a 6-foot junior guard from Mud Lake, Idaho. Westminster won both of their games at the Golden Rule Shootout. The Griffins downed Walla Walla 85-44 and College of Idaho 68-50. He averaged 15 points, 2.5 rebounds, one assist and 2.5 steals. He was 11 of 19 from the field (58 percent) and 6 of 7 from free throw line (88 percent). Also nominated: Danny Marshall of Lewis-Clark State, Dennis Mikelonis of Carroll College and Malachi Roberts of Rocky Mountain College.
