Volleyball
Attacker of the Week:
Holly Morehouse, Carroll College, a 6-foot senior right side hitter from Anchorage, Alaska. The 23rd ranked Saints went 2-0 over the weekend with two road victories. Carroll beat No. 14 Montana Tech 3-2 and Lewis-Clark State 3-2.

Morehouse averaged three kills and 1.40 digs. Her attack percentage was .213. Her 14 kills led Carroll in handing Montana Tech their first conference loss.

Masha Korol of Montana Tech, Mariah Diaz of the University of Providence, and Sydney Matheny of Rocky Mountain were also nominated.

Defender of the Week: Ayla Carpenter, Carroll College, a 5-9 sophomore outside hitter from Graham, Washington. The 23rd ranked Saints went 2-0 over the weekend with two road victories. Carroll beat No. 14 Montana Tech 3-2 and Lewis-Clark State 3-2.

Playing her second weekend at libero, Carpenter averaged 5.60 digs per set. She also recorded 10 assists in Carroll’s 3-2 win over Montana Tech, the Orediggers first conference loss.

Also nominated: Sabrina Hopcroft of Montana Tech, Brooke Both of the University of Providence, and Holland Fergurson of Rocky Mountain.

Setter of the Week: Rayna Pilgeram, Carroll College, a 6-foot, senior setter from Helena. The 23rd ranked Saints went 2-0 over the weekend with two road victories. Carroll beat No. 14 Montana Tech 3-2 and Lewis-Clark State 3-2. Pilgeram averaged 7.50 assists, four digs and 2.30 kills per set.

Also nominated: Tori Chelini of Montana Tech, Natalie Hilderman of Rocky Mountain and Paige Jensen of the University of Providence.

Basketball
Women’s Basketball Player of the Week:
Parker Esary, University of Providence, a 6-1 freshman forward from Kalama, Wash. The Argos opened their 2017-18 season with a 84-67 victory over the University of Lethbridge.

Esary scored 22 points and pulled down five rebounds. She was 9 of 14 from the field (64 percent) and 4 of 4 from the free throw line.

Also nominated: Kaylynn Coverdell of Montana, Tech and Jacy Thompson of MSU-Northern.

Men’s Basketball Player of the Week: Race Martin, Lewis-Clark State, a 6-6 junior forward from Pullman, Wash. Lewis-Clark State opened their 2017-18 season with a pair of wins over Northwest Indian College The Warriors won 114-47 and 119-94.

Martin averaged 23 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and two steals per game. He was 15 of 20 (75 percent) from the field, 6 of 8, 3-point field goals (75 percent); and a perfect 10 for 10 from the free throw line.

Also nominated: Sergio Berkley of the University of Providence and Ryan Imhoff of Carroll College.
