Frontier championships featured on television

HELENA — The Whalen Tire Games of the Week feature the men and women’s Frontier Conference basketball playoff championship games Monday and Tuesday.

The games will be broadcast by Lyon Productions and aired via Eleven Sports and the SWX network of television stations.

The women’s championship game matches top-seeded and fourth-ranked Montana Western (15-3, 25-3) against second-seeded and seventh-ranked Carroll College (14-4, 24-7). Montana Western claimed the regular season title. Tipoff is Monday at 7 p.m. (MST) from Montana Western’s Straugh Gymnasium.

The men’s championship game matches top seeded and ninth-ranked Carroll College (13-5, 26-6) against second-seeded and 12th-ranked Lewis-Clark State (13-5, 25-6). The two teams shared the regular season title with Carroll receiving the playoff’s No. 1 seed after winning two of three games in their regular season series. Tipoff is Tuesday at 7 p.m.(MST) from Carroll’s P.E. Center.

The women’s championship will air live on Eleven Sports via DirecTV, channel 623; and Verizon FIOS, channel 597. The women’s game will be taped delayed on SWX and will air at roughly 9 p.m. or after the Montana Grizzly men’s game. The men’s game will air live Tuesday on all channels.

The SWX network airs regionally on the following stations: Channel 8.2 in Billings; 18.3 in the Butte/Bozeman market; channel 5.3 in Great Falls; channel 21.3 in Helena and channel 23.3 in the Missoula/Kalispell market.

In the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene market SWX airs on channel 6.2 and in the Yakima/Pasco/Richland, Wash. market on channel 25.3.

On Charter Communications, the SWX network airs on channel 503 in Billings and on channel 199 in the rest of Montana.
