The Frontier Conference announced its Players of the Week Monday. Following are the weekly winners for football and volleyball.
FOOTBALL
Offensive Player of the Week: Dustin Rinker, Carroll College, 5-foot-9, 200-pound sophomore running back from Riggins, Idaho. In Carroll’s 35-14 win over Montana State-Northern, Rinker rushed for 241 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries. He also caught one pass for 20 yards. Also nominated: Jace Billingsley of Eastern Oregon, Austin Dodge of Southern Oregon, Pat Hansen of Montana Tech and Clint Linthicum of Rocky Mountain.
Defensive Player of the Week: Kalii Robinson, Southern Oregon, 6-foot, 190-pound senior linebacker, from Los Angeles, Calif. In Southern Oregon’s 76-29 road win over Montana Western, Robinson had three solo tackles, four assisted tackles and one tackle for loss as the Southern Oregon defense held Western to 17 yards rushing and 200 total yards of offense. Also nominated: Jake Scharbrough of Rocky Mountain, Mike Siegersma of Carroll College and Nate Thompson of Montana Tech.
Special Teams Player of the Week: Nick Knell, Rocky Mountain College, 6-foot, 175-pound senior kicker from Lander, Wyo. In Rocky’s 46-14 win over Dickinson State, Knell had three punts for 224 yards including one 56-yard punt. He was 5 of 6 in P.A.T.’s and kicked a 49-yard field goal. Also nominated: Colin Amsler of Southern Oregon.
VOLLEYBALL
Player of the Week: Catie Hanser, Carroll College, 5-foot-9 junior defensive specialist from Billings. Carroll downed Montana State-Northern 3-1 and lost to Rocky Mountain College 2-3.Hanser averaged eight digs per set for the weekend. Her 40 digs against Northern, broke the Carroll school record of 30 digs in a single match set in 1985. Also nominated: Holly Cartwright of Montana State-Northern, Anna Dewald of Rocky Mountain, Korey Krumm of Montana Tech, Keisha Lubbert-Kennedy of Lewis-Clark State, Brea Mitchell of Montana Western, Stephanie Jones Morin of Westminster College, Kelsey Van Uden of the University of Great Falls.
