Friday’s Hot Ticket: Maroons vs. Beavers

Girls prep basketball
Dillon at Butte Central, 6 p.m.

The girls open the Southwestern A doubleheader at the Maroon Activities Center.

The Beavers enter the contest at 1-5 overall and 1-1 in league play. Dillon’s lone win was a 42-33 victory at Frenchtown. Josey Jones averages 12.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game to lead Dillon. Tylia DeJohn adds 7.2 points per game to the lineup.

Central (1-5, 1-3) will see its first action since its 41-35 Dec. 20 loss at Hamilton. Junior Emma Keeley scored 12 points to lead the Maroons in that game. Senior Tricia Joyce tossed in 10 points, and freshman Sofee Thatcher netted nine.

Boys’ prep basketball
Dillon at Butte Central, 7:30 p.m.

The BC boys (6-0, 3-0) look to stay unbeaten when they take on the Beavers (5-1, 1-1) in the nightcap.

The Maroons are coming off their 57-50 Dec. 20 home win over Hamilton. Junior Braden Harrington is averaging 15.5 points per game to lead the balanced BC attack. Senior Cade Holter scored 13.5 points per game, while senior Dylan Sestrich scores 9.8

The Beavers’ lone defeat was a 61-58 home loss to Frenchtown in Dillon. The team bounced back with wins over Livingston and Corvallis to close out December. Senior Michael Haverfield averages 18.8 points per game to lead Dillon.
