Prep girls’ basketball
Butte Central at Dillon, 6 p.m.
The girls open the Southwestern A twin bill at the B.W. Lodge Gymnasium. The Maroons (1-6, 0-3) look to stop a six-game losing streak in their first meeting of the season with the Beavers (3-2, 1-0).
Sophomore Sofee Thatcher’s 10.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per game leads BC into action. She scored 15 points in BC’s 53-52 home loss to Hamilton on Saturday. Junior Maddie Kump led the Maroons with 17 points. Senior Emma Keely tossed in nine.
Josey Jones’ 9.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game leads the Beavers, who are coming off Livingston’s 51-24 loss at Livingston. Ainsley Shipman adds 9.2 points and 6.6 boards to the lineup, while Tylia DeJohn scores 7.4 points per game.
Prep boys’ basketball
Butte Central at Dillon, 7:30 p.m.
The Maroons look to run their record to 8-0 when they take on the rival Beavers in the nightcap.
Senior Braden Harrington is averaging 17.1 points and 5.1 rebounds per game to lead the Maroons, who went on the road to beat Hamilton 54-31 on Saturday. Trevor Neumann adds 7.7 points per game, while Luke Heaphy scores 7.4 BC also gets 6.7 from Ryan Wahl and 6.5 from Jared Simkins.
Central is 3-0 in league play.
Dillon takes a 3-2 and 0-1 record into the game after falling 61-55 Saturday at Livingston. The Beavers have lost two straight. Justus Peterson scores 13.5 points per game to lead three Dillon players in double figures. Braden Anderson adds 12.4, and Cole Johnston scores 10.6.
Butte at Sheridan, Wyoming, 7:30 p.m.
The game opens a two-game set between the Cobras and the Hawks.
Butte takes a 6-27 record into the weekend. Sheridan is a half game behind Bozeman for second place in the Frontier Division at 26-6.
The puck drops at 7 for Saturday’s game.
