The Bulldogs bust out of the holiday break with one of the top tournaments of the season at Bozeman High School.
Butte High had time to heal up and get healthy after a busy December schedule.
The Bulldogs are coming off a strong showing at the CMR Holiday Classic. Kameron Moreno and Scout Allen led Butte High by placing second at heavyweight and 138 pounds. Kobe Moreno placed fourth at 205 pounds.
Saturday’s action begins at 10 a.m. The tournament is named after Butte High graduate and long-time Bozeman coach Tom LeProwses, who became Butte High’s 13th Diamond B in October.
Men’s college basketball
Concordia University of Edmonton at Montana Tech, 6 p.m.
The Orediggers will play the Thunder on back-to-back nights at the HPER Complex, starting with Friday’s tilt.
Concordia took a 7-5 overall record into Thursday’s game at Carroll College. The Thunder fell 97-47 Wednesday at MSU-Northern.
Tech is 6-5 overall after blowout wins over Walla Walla University and Southern Alberta Institute of Technology last weekend at a tournament hosted by Carroll.
Saturday’s game tips off at 4 p.m.
Bozeman at Butte, 7:30 p.m.
The Cobras will be the home team for the home-and-home series with the Icedogs.
Bozeman comes to town with a 24-5 record. Butte is 6-25 after Tuesday’s 5-2 loss at Missoula. The teams play at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Bozeman.
