Friday’s Hot Ticket: Bulldogs, Cobras

Billings Skyview at Butte High, 7 p.m.

The Ross J. Richardson Memorial Gymnasium will set the scene as the Bulldogs (3-11, 0-8) jump back into Eastern AA play against the Falcons (8-6, 4-4).

Skyview topped Butte in a 47-46 thriller Jan. 18 in Billings. .Julius Mims scored 12 points and Zach Schacht tossed in 11 in that win. Cam Ketchum, a 6-foot-2 sophomore scores 11.6 points per game to lead the Falcons. Mims, a 6-7 junior adds 10.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, while Schacht, a 6-10 senior, contributes with 9.5 points and 6.7 boards.

Butte High is coming off last week’s overtime win over Butte Central. Senior Clay Ferguson averages 13.6 points per game to lead the Bulldogs. He scored 16 in the first game against Skyview. Classmate Danny McCloskey adds 11.3 points per game for the Bulldogs, while senor Kash Kelly averages 6.2 assists.

The Bulldogs play host to Billings West Saturday afternoon.

Butte High at Billings Skyview, 7 p.m.

The Bulldogs (11-3, 7-1) look for their 11th win in 12 games when they hit the road to take on the winless Falcons (0-14, 0-8) in the Eastern AA contest.

Brittney Tierney scored 12 points and Ally Cleverly poured in 11 Jan. 18 as Butte High beat the Falcons 50-23 at the Butte Civic Center. Cleverly leads the team with 15.7 points per game. Fellow senior Aspen Lovshin scores 12.6.

Brooke Berry, a 5-11 freshman, averages 10.9 points per game to lead the Falcons.

The Bulldogs will play at Billings West in a first-place showdown Saturday afternoon.

Gillette at Butte Cobras, 7:30 p.m.

The game is the first of two home games for the Cobras at the Butte Community Ice Center this weekend. The teams also play at 7:30 Saturday night.
