Friday’s Hot Ticket: Bulldogs, Maroons, Cobras

Prep boys’ basketball
Butte High at Billings Skyview, 7:30 p.m.
The Bulldogs (0-2, 1-7) will face a serious test as they hit the road to take on the unbeaten Falcons (3-0, 9-0) in an Eastern AA game. Skyview is coming off Thursday’s 67-62 win over Billings West in a rematch of last year’s Class AA state championship game. RaQuan Evans scored 22 points and Payton Stott added 18 to lead the way for the defending champs. Brock Powell’s 11.0 points and 6.2 rebounds per game leads the Bulldogs. Dylan Cook adds 10.2 points and 7.5 boards to the lineup, while Ryson Lovshin scores 10.1 points. The Bulldogs play at West at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

Prep girls’ basketball
Billings Skyview at Butte High, 7:30 p.m.

The Ross J. Richardson Memorial Gymnasium will be the site as the Bulldogs (0-2, 0-8) take on the Falcons (0-3, 3-6) in the Eastern AA game. The Falcons are looking for their first win since knocking off Laurel in overtime on Jan. 9. They have lost three straight. Jacey Reiter, a 6-2 junior, averages 8.7 points and 5.1 rebounds to lead the Falcons, who come to town with four players 5-11 or taller. Freshman Ally Cleverly’s 9.6 points per game leads the Bulldogs. Abby Dodge, a 5-10 junior, adds 6.0 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. The Bulldogs host Billings West at 4:30 p.m. Saturday

Prep wrestling
Butte Central at Class A Duals, Lewistown, 1:30 p.m.

The Maroons will take on the best of the Class A in the two-day tournament in the center of the state. Action begins at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Hockey
Seattle at Butte Cobras, 7 p.m.

A playoff spot could hang in the balance as the Totems (6-21) comes to town to take on the Cobras (6-28) for a three-game set at the Community Ice Center. Seattle currently holds sixth and final playoff spot out of the WSHL’s Northwest Division. Saturday’s game also begins at 7 p.m. Sunday’s matinee begins at 2 p.m. Admission to Cobra Sunday home games is free. The Cobras won’t play at home again until March.
