Following is a rundown of Butte sports action on tap for Friday, Nov. 23.
Women’s College Basketball
Marygrove College at Montana Tech, 7 p.m.
The Orediggers (2-4) look to snap a four-game losing streak when they welcome the Mustangs (1-2) to the HPER Complex for the kickoff of the Peg Sarsfield Weekend. Kelsey DeWit leads the Orediggers into action, averaging 14.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.7 steals and two blocks per game. Mandy Machinal averages 14.2 points per game, while Laini Kalumbi is coming off a career-high 17-point game. Marygrove is from near Detroit.
Men’s College Basketball
Montana Tech vs. Chadron State in Salt Lake City, 5 p.m.
The Orediggers (3-2) are hoping to bounce back from two tough losses at last week’s Carroll tournament when they play at the Westminster Holiday Classic. Adam Greger’s 14 points and five rebounds per game lead the Orediggers into play. Bryan Bock, who returned after a missing most of last season with a broken foot, averages 13.6 points and 4.8 assists. The Orediggers play Cal State San Marcos at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
