Billings West at Butte High (DH), 3 p.m.
The Bulldogs (3-8 overall, 2-4 conference) will aim for their first home win of the season Friday at Stodden Park. The first game of the twin bill counts in Eastern AA standings. The second game will be non-conference. Butte High swept the Bears April 15 in Billings. Freshman Taylor Huff hit a 3-run home run in the seventh inning to lift the Bulldogs to a 5-4 conference win. Kaidy McClafferty got the win in the pitcher’s circle. Jenna Walker and Katelyn Alley homered as the Bulldogs outslugged the Bears and Butte native Kendyl Boltz 15-12 in the non-conference game. Butte High will host Billings Senior in a noon doubleheader on Saturday.
Butte Central at Frenchtown Invitational
The Maroons (6-1) will play three non-conference games in the two-day tournament. First up for the Maroons is a 6 p.m. game against Polson on Friday. On Saturday, BC will play Ronan at 4 p.m. before closing the tournament with a rematch with Columbia Falls at 7 p.m. Teresa Piazzola struck out 13 batters and BC beat Polson 4-1 in the season opener April 2 in Polson. Later that day, the Maroons fell 4-1 to Columbia Falls.
