Friday’s Hot Ticket

Butte High at Billings Skyview (DH) 3 p.m.

The Bulldogs (6-5, 4-2) hit the road for their first action in eight days when they take on the Falcons. Game 1 of the twin bill will count in Eastern AA standings, while Game 2 will be a non-conference contest. The Falcons swept the Bulldogs April 18 in Butte, winning 7-5 and 23-16 at a freezing Stodden Park. The Bulldogs, though, are coming off last Thursday’s sweep of defending state champion Great Falls High. Bethany McLean, Bobbie Osterman, Morgan Bagley and Maria Michelotti each hit a home run in that big sweep at Stodden Park. Jessica Robertson pitched the distance for two wins against the powerful Bison lineup. Butte High should also get a boost from the return from injury of senior third baseman Baylee Thatcher this weekend. Butte High will play a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Billings West on Saturday. Both of those contests will be conference games.

Butte High at Great Falls Invite, 8:30 a.m.

The Bulldogs will see some serious competition during the two-day tournament. Butte High is coming off Tuesday’s losses at Missoula Hellgate and Missoula Sentinel. The doubles team of Jake Williams and Seth Jakshaw went 2-0 Tuesday in Missoula. Brett Bentley and Nate Scherman also picked up a doubles win for the Butte High boys. Mati Jones won a singles match for the Butte High girls. Bulldogs Molly Sprunger and Jesslyn Valle won a doubles match.  Saturday’s action begins at 8 a.m.
