Friday’s Hot Ticket

Prep Girls’ Basketball
Butte Central at Dillon, 7:30 p.m.

The Maroons are hoping a new year starts a new winning streak. The Maroons (5-1 overall, 3-0 in conference) return to action after the break with a Southwestern A game at the B.W. Lodge Gym. That’s the site of Dillon’s upset win over BC on its way to the Divisional championship last February. BC’s last action was a 46-42 home loss to Belgrade in a non-conference game. Danee Leary averages 16.2 points and 8.8 rebounds per game to lead the Maroons. Danika Neuman adds 10.2 points to the lineup. Mariah Cooney, who averages 9.2 rebounds, Hannah Stajcar and Alysea Pica have also put up double-digit games this season. The Beavers enter the game at 4-0 and 1-0. Cierra Lamey averages a team-best 9.8 points per game. Alex Rouse scores 9 points per game.

Prep Wrestling
Butte High and Butte Central at Bozeman Invitational 11 a.m.
The two-day tournament is the first action after the break for the Butte Central wrestlers. Last time out, BC 98-pounder Clay Stillwagon placed second at the 35th Annual Holiday Classic in Great Falls. Butte High is trying to bounce back from last night’s loss to Billings Skyview. Butte High will send a junior varsity squad to Columbus.
