BILLINGS — Markaela Francis’ second big game of the week powered Rocky Mountain College to a win Saturday night at the Fortin Education Center.
Two nights after scoring 27 points in a win over Lewis-Clark State, the 6-foot Rocky senior scored 33 points and pulled down eight rebounds to lead the Battlin’ Bears to a 72-59 Frontier Conference win over Montana Tech. (Stats)
Francis was one of three players to score in double figures for the Bears, who blew open a 36-27 game at halftime with a 22-12 third quarter.
Butte Central graduate Kloie Thatcher scored 16 points in the regular-season finale. She also dished out four assists and collected two steals. Antuanisha Wright scored 11 points.
Tavia Rooney’s 12 points paced the Orediggers, who saw all five starters score in double digits. Dani Urick scored 11 points, while Mesa Williams, Kaylee Zard and Mollie Peoples each tossed in 10.
