Fourth quarter run leads Corvallis girls past BC

CORVALLIS — Corvallis used a fourth quarter run Saturday to knock off Butte Central 35-24 in a Southwestern A girls’ basketball game.

The Blue Devils outscored BC 13-3 in the final frame to break open a game they led 22-21 after three quarters. Corvallis led 15-14 at halftime.

Hannah Martin poured in 12 points to lead the Blue Devils (6-3, 2-2), who won for the fourth time in five games. Ashlynn Nixon added 12 points, while Brooke Powell and Isabel Evans each scored five.

Maddie Kump drained a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points to lead the Maroons (1-10, 0-5).

Delaney Hasquet scored five for BC, which got four points apiece from Emma Keeley and Taylor Harrington. Sofee Thatcher scored three.

Next up for the Maroons is home games against Stevensville and Frenchtown next Friday and Saturday.
