ANACONDA — Butte players won four of the six divisions Monday as the 2022 Southwest Montana Junior Golf Tour wrapped up with the Old Works Championships.
Butte’s Taylor Sullivan, Brenner Booth, Teagan Yelenich and Gracie Godbout won tournament titles on the course Jack Nicklaus built. (Leaderboard; Tour standings)
Sullivan shot a 97 to win the Nelly Korda Division for girls 16-17. Butte’s Kendyllen Lean took second at 100. Lean, though, won the season-long tour championship in the age group.
Booth carded an 86 to win the Patrick Cantlay Division for boys 14-15. Chase Choquette of Butte took second at 87, which was one shot better than Braxtyn Turney of Dillon. Choquette took home the season title.
Yelenich shot a 46 over nine holes to win the Jordan Spieth Division for boys 13 and under. He also won the tour championship in the age group. Butte’s Cade Kelly placed second at 49. Jack Muhlstein of Butte took third at 51.
Godbout won the Danielle Kang division for girls 13 and under, shooting a 67 over nine holes. Fellow Butte golfer Kate DeShaw took second at 70. Melrose golfer Evyn Smith, who goes to school in Butte, won the season crown.
Hamilton golfers Carson Richie and Max Cianflone each shot a 79 to tie for the top spot in the Scotty Scheffler Division for boys 16-17. Richie secured the season title. Three Anaconda golfers — Alex Jorgensen, Tanner Cromwell and Bradley Wolfe — tied for third at 84.
Clancy’s Maryah Lindsay once again won the Lexi Thompson Division for girls 14-15. She hit an 86 as she secured the season title. Tatum Nagle of Dillon took second at 98, and Butte’s Chelsi Lyons finished third at 101.
The tournament closed the eight-stop tour, which made its return after missing 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic.
