The Montana Class AA All-State and all-conference basketball teams for the 2019-20 season were released to the media today, and four Butte High players made the grade.
Seniors Haley Herron and Makenna Carpenter took home honors on the girls’ side, while senior Tommy Mellott and junior Jake Olson received accolades for the boys.
Herron and Carpenter were both named second-team all-conference in the Western AA. That came after Herron averaged 9.8 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Carpenter, who hit on 44 attempts from 3-point range, averaged 9.7 points and 4.8 rebounds.
The duo helped lead Butte High’s inspired run in the Western AA Divisional tournament that ended just shy of the state tournament.
