Former Montana Tech linebacker Ryan Jones was released by the Baltimore Ravens earlier this month.
Jones, who signed with the Ravens after going undrafted in May, received an injury settlement from the club, according to The Baltimore Sun. He had signed a three-year contract with a $1,000 signing bonus.
The Sun didn’t report what type of injury Jones suffered.
Jones recorded 83 tackles, 8.5 for losses, five sacks and one interception last season for the Orediggers. He finished his career with 127 tackles and 10.5 sacks.
The Reno, Nevada, native caught the eyes of NFL scouts when he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.68 seconds and bench pressed 225 pounds 28 times. He also registered a 34-inch vertical leap and a 10-foot broad jump on his pro day.
The Ravens waived Jones and he went unclaimed on waivers, temporarily landing on the injured reserve list. He was then released with the settlement.
