Former Bulldog Jessica Robertson fires no-hitter

GLENDIVE — Freshman Jessica Robertson fired a no-hitter Sunday to highlight Dawson Community College’s doubleheader sweep of North Dakota State College of Science.

The Buccaneers won the opener 8-0 before Robertson pitched a no-hitter with her parents and grandparents in the crowd in Game 2. The 2014 Butte High graduate struck out six batters and walked two in the 10-0 victory.

Dawson, which improved to 9-5 on the season, opened Mon-Dak play with four wins — by a total of 51-0 — this weekend against NDSCS. The Bucs will travel to Rosemont, Minnesota, Friday to play in the Blue Knight Crossover Dome Tournament.

Robertson, a three-year starter for the Bulldogs, signed with Dawson just before the start of her senior season. The Bucs are coached by Butte native Jim LeProwse.

Great job Jess. All your years of hard work are paying off. You are an amazing role model for all the young players that want to follow in your steps.
